Undoubtedly the most problematical ‘problem’ in the current political environment in the what to do about Donald. Unfortunately, the problem is not going to be solved in true Hollywood fashion.
Perhaps the problem is not what to do about Donald but what to do after Donald, whenever that happens and for whatever reason, post Donald USA is going to require one heck of a transformation.
However, it is won’t be the first time that nation re-building has been undertaken, think post world war two rebuilding of Europe. What lessons have we learned from all the nation building activities? Mostly they are around leadership, governance and management. Who in a post Donald world will provide that leadership, that vision, is Pax Americana still up for the challenge or has that run its course as Pax Romana and Pax Britannica did before it?
How can we help rebuild the peace, what questions do we need to be asking? For me a great start would be to consider our legacy in terms of innovation – are we going to continue to grow at the cost of everything else or should our innovation focus on how we can work with everything else. To me this is bigger than climate change or renewable energies, the questions should be about how all these things join up.
